Property Tax Appeal Deadline TODAY

AVI imageLatest Info on How to File

Over the weekend we received new information on how you can file your property tax appeal with the Board of Revision of Taxes (BRT). Appeals are due Today, October 7.

By Mail

Mail to the address on the appeal form (The Curtis Center, 601 Walnut St., Suite 325 East, 19106). Must be postmarked (not just dropped in the mail) by Oct 7.

By Email

We’ve been told that the BRT will accept appeals emailed to appealinquiry@phila.gov. Print the appeal form, fill it out and sign it, scan it, then email it as an attachment (with any supporting documentation). They’ll accept emails that arrive in their inbox before midnight.

By Hand Delivery

The BRT will be open until midnight tonight. You can hand-deliver it and they will time-stamp it. Or you can drop it in a bin they’ll have outside their office. No time-stamp that way, but they say anything in the bin when they arrive for work tomorrow morning will be considered on time and accepted.

Final Tips

Check the box requesting an Oral Hearing. You can always withdraw that request later.

If you don’t have all your supporting documentation file your anyway. You have 20 days to send in additional documentation.
