We got so much done today! In the realm of “sometimes it takes a while, but we get to stuff eventually,” new fence rails went in, closing the gap by the potty shed off again; the rubber mulch began the process of GOING AWAY; the stump of a tree and the dead dogwood are both out of the lawn; more than half the xmas-tree-chips are spread; the pile of compost is fully off the street; and the children’s garden got an overhaul. Work always remains to be done, but much was accomplished!

This Saturday, May 10, 2014 – Bring the kids & come on out to Liberty Lands for the Love Your Park Day, 9am-2pm.

We’ll be getting the children’s garden in shape for Spring and having some fun! No gardening experience necessary!

Activities include:

Planting baby sunflowers & herbs
Spreading seeds
Pulling chickweed (an edible, medicinal plant that literally grows like a weed around here)

Tips on plant-based first aid for common park boo boos
AND a super-fantastic Scavenger Hunt

It’s a great way to connect with nature, meet your neighbors & give back to the park that gives so much to you!
