NLNA is launching a
$22,000 fundraising
campaign to restore
the Doughboy statue
and maintain it
for the future.

Transport Workers Local 234 on 2nd St. has generously committed $2,500 to the cause, but more is needed. Help out by donating to the GoFundMe campaign for this worthy cause!

The Doughboy statue, located
at Second and Spring Garden Streets,
honors soldiers (known as doughboys)
from the River Wards who were
killed during the First World War.

Your support will:

• Reproduce and install one of the bronze plaques of 400 names that was stolen. The complete set of three plaques list all of soldiers from the River Wards who served.
• Replicate and attach missing bayonet.
• Clean and apply a protective covering to the complete sculpture.
• Support the ongoing maintenance of the statue and park.

NLNA is working with the City of Philadelphia and Kreilick Conservation, LLC on the restoration. With your support we can restore the statue to its rightful place and honor those before us.
